چکیده

We present a deterministic model of radio wave propagation based on radiance transfers. Our model uses radiosity techniques to determine facet-to-facet specular reflections according to a 3D building description. The model contains two main components. First, visibility between elements is determined and used to establish links that represent radiance transfers that include diffraction and free space losses based on geometric approximations. Secondly, links are used to define a transfer equation whose solution provides the transfer intereflections. The solution is obtained by using hierarchical radiosity. The results of the model show a good agreement with measurements made in urban areas. in ria -0 05 10 17 3, v er si on 2 11 J an 2 01 1 Author manuscript, published in "IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation 51, 11 (2003) 30973108"

کاربرد روش معادله سهموی در تحلیل مسائل انتشار امواج داخل ساختمان

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...

Performance & Evaluation of Propagation Models for Sub-Urban Areas

Radio wave propagation models are extremely important in radio network planning, design as well as in interference planning. Radio propagation is essential for emerging technologies with appropriate design, deployment and management strategies for any wireless network. It is heavily site specific and can vary significantly depending on terrain, frequency of operation, velocity of mobile termina...

Bayesian Filtering for Localization of Mobile Terminals

A discrete Bayesian filter (DBF) was developed to work as a pattern matching technique with database correlation for mobile location. The database is constructed using a 3D deterministic radio wave propagation prediction model. Three methods to yield final location estimates are presented and compared according to their accuracy. We carried out field measurements in a GSM network deployed in a ...

Performance Evaluation of Radio Propagation Models on GSM Network in Urban Area of Lagos, Nigeria

The analysis of radio propagation in urban terrains became highly imperative owing to the fact that the environment is composed of different physical obstructions such as high-rise buildings, towers and bill boards situated on a grid-like pattern of streets. Radio propagation characteristics, to a large extent, vary from one type of environment to the other. In this paper, the suitability of th...

This paper introduces CityComfortþ, a new method to simulate the spatial variation of the mean radiant temperature (Tmrt) in dense urban areas. This method derives the Tmrt by modeling five components of radiation fluxesddirect solar radiation, diffuse solar radiation, reflected solar radiation, long-wave radiation from the atmosphere, and long-wave radiation from urban surfacesdeach weighted b...
